It was a great honor just to be a nominee for the Colorado Technology Association’s Startup of the Year 2015 APEX Award.
But to win? No words.
We are so grateful to be part of the Colorado business and wireless communities.
Colorado is not only a great place to live, it’s a great place to do business. The people here are smart, dedicated, hard-working and willing to help. We could not have won this award if not for the many people who helped us along the way.
2015 has been a big year for the BluFlux team. We completed our work with Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) group, delivering early antenna prototypes for Project Soli. More on that here. In June, we were named to FierceWireless’ “Fierce 15,” an award recognizing up-and-coming wireless companies for creativity, innovation and potential for growth.
Our over-the-air (OTA) test chamber received certification by the national accrediting body, A2LA, setting us up to take the next step in becoming a CTIA Approved Test Lab (CATL). We’re working on that and should have news to share any day now.
We’ve also seen our business grow through new partnerships with companies like Decawave, as well as a spike in the interest in our services – from helping design ultra wideband RTLS products to Bluetooth antenna design and cellular M2M. Quite frankly, it’s a blast being an RF engineer at BluFlux, working at the very edge on products and innovations that are meaningful and relevant to people.
So, I want to say thank you.
Thank you to the Colorado Technology Association for its leadership and for bringing people together in the more than 50 events it hosts every year. Thank you to all those who have supported us and helped build the company. Congratulations to our fellow Startup of the Year nominees, Clear Comfort and Boom Algae (featured in the video below) who are helping to shape the Colorado Front Range startup ecosystem.
Thank you to our stakeholders. Thank you to the BluFlux team – Eric / Jeff B. / Steve / Jeff M. / Nate / David / Joe / Garrett / Dave / Matt – this is your award and it belongs to you.
And finally, thank you to our families and friends, especially my wife Kate and my children who endure lots of daddy’s late hours and weekends.
Ben
